Learning new stuff

It is amazing how fast children learn new stuff. Everyday Jimmy does something he couldn't do the day before! He is starting to make more and more sounds, follow directions, climb on top of anything and everything, and show us just how smart he is. He is such a sweet boy... always hugging everyone and he loves to climb up into my lap to snuggle! Make no mistake though, he is ALL boy (as noted by the climbing) He is so in love with the young girl who works in his room at school. Apparently he follows her around and if she walks by him he stops what he is doing to watch her! The other day when daddy went to pick him up, Jim told Jimmy to say goodbye. To one teacher he waved. When Jim told him to say goodbye to Miss Emily, he blushed and hid his head on Jim's shoulder.... what a flirt!
Jimmy is a little over 18 months and he can say: momma, dadda, bye, gingi (Ginger), ball and bath which sound strangely similar. I can't wait to see how his little personality grows and changes in the coming months.

Sleeping in our bed

I am not sure when it happened exactly but somewhere along the way Skylar starting coming into our bed in the middle of the night. Some nights I am so tired I just snuggle up with her and other nights she is so restless we move her back into her own bed. Recently she has taken to falling asleep in our bed and then we move her into her own when we go to bed for the night. I am not sure why she started wanting to fall asleep in our bed but I don't see it as a big deal. She is still going right to sleep on her own, just in a new location! Anyway, it has its perks. I can now give her snuggles and kisses before I go to sleep. It is the most amazing thing to watch your babies sleep... there is NOTHING more sweet, calm, innocent.... perfect. I can't help but wonder what we will do when Jimmy reaches this stage. Will Skylar have outgrown it by then or will there be 4 in the bed?? I want my children to have good sleep habits. That is why we did the "cry it out' that is why we "retrained" them to sleep on their own after every set back, that is why we pick up a sleeping 3 1/2 year old to move her into her own bed even though we love to have her share ours. Still, I can't help but feel a little happy every time I get in those few minutes of extra snuggles. Here's to hoping both my babies will always want some night time snuggles with their mommy!

Singing in the Choir

Today was a fun day! Skylar and her friends at school have been working hard to learn some church songs. Today all their hard work paid off and they got to share those songs at the 11:00 contemporary service!

I wasn't sure if she would be scared or too shy to preform. When we first got there, she wouldn't let go of my leg but then she found some familiar faces and was okay to let me go find a seat inside the church. Next thing I know, she is standing right in front dancing to her own beat like she doesn't have a shy bone in her body... who would have thought?? At any rate, I was really glad we went. Few things sound as sweet as children singing.

Homecoming 2010

Skylar went to her first homecoming game and with it came her first mum!! As usual, I could not get her to hold still for a cute picture :( It was fun to make her a mini mum and I look forward to making them for years to come... I think I am going to have to go TEXAS in a few years though. You know, the bigger, the better???

We had a great time cheering on the Coogs!!
GO Coogs!!!
With one of our favorite cheerleaders!!
Skylar and Jimmy watching the action!
Turning around to get her picture taken!
Daddy and Skylar before the game
I wanted her to stand still to show off her mum -- She had other plans
